Recently, I've read an information from gigabyte.us which said that all new generation of motherboards will support Ivy Bridge Processor and PCIE 3.0 and they also give a list of motherboards which will have these very awesome technology but I can't see my model (GA-H61M-S2PV rev 2.0) there. Would anyone tell me if my motherboard supports Ivy Bridge Processors? Thanks.

I have just received an reply to my question for clarification of this point. Here is the answer:

As far as I know the list at http://www.gigabyte.com/press-center/news-page.aspx?nid=1048 is be valid.

I can only assume that although your motherboard's latest BIOS doesn't mention anything about it upgrading to 22nm chip support that it does anyway but hasn't been put on the list.   :-\

It shows the 22nn logo and support info (CPU and PCIE 3.0) right on the overview page for his board, so that list may have been posted before the board was released, or maybe they missed a model or two.   Looks to me like it will support Ivy for sure, as they wouldn't mistakenly put the logo and info on the boards page, but they could however much easier forgot to include a mode on that list

Yes quite possibly an oversight as it certainly should support IvyBridge chips. As you say it is more likely to have just been missed off the list.

That's what I think happened, and then any Rep you ask just checks that list instead of the actual motherboard page/ability.

Yes, the only difference between the two boards is the revision (mine 2.0) while the other is 1.0. However, the board with rev. 1.0 (it wasn't on the list) has been supported with the E1  stepping 22nm processor but not for mine.

Yes, I hope so

I am very happy to know that my motherboard can support Ivy bridge by looking at the CPU support list of its. However, there was a post of another member which said that although his motherboard did support Ivy Bridge, he couldn't upgrade to Ivy Bridge because of a kind of chip. Do you know what it is?

Hi again. I am only guessing here as you haven't post a link to the actual thread but I think you might be getting confused with the member who was moaning about the PCIE3.0 chips and the compatibility of some boards with this standard.
