Couple of Questions setting up a New GA-990FXA-ud3
« on: March 18, 2012, 06:37:53 pm »
I haven't built a new computer in a long while so please forgive this if it seems rudimentary, but I want to get this right the first time rather than struggling to trouble shoor the easy stuff.

1) In setting up the fans I not that I have no case based connector for the motherboard pins labeled: Sys_Fan1,  Sys_Fan2, and PWR_Fan.  The CPU fan connector was easy enough, but are these connectors for an aftermarket fan controller(And if so does anyone have a recommendation on one)

The system won't fry when I turn it on if these aren't hooked up correct?  They have power via the 4 pin, but no hookup to the board pins.

I see I can only add two graphics at a time so I will break up the threads so I can use graphics to facilitate understanding of my questions.

The CPU fan is as it sounds. Itb is a PWM fan and as such can be controlled via the BIOS. The other fan headers are all power outlets nothing to do with fan controllers and they will power any normal 12v fan you connect to them. SYSFAN_2 though only works at half speed so don't think there is a fault if you use this one.
