Secure Erasing My SSD
« on: March 24, 2012, 02:38:47 am »
I'm finding it  impossible to get the Secure Erase program to work on the z68xp-ud4 motherboard to clean erase my ssd drive. I've tried running Secure Erase in the IDE mode and the AHCI mode but didn't have any luck at all. I'm running the Intel Smart response program where you use an ssd max. (64Gb) and a Harddrive, (1 Terabyte). Before trying to erase the ssd I took the program out of acceleration and made both the ssd and the hdd a non member disk. Is this what you're suppose to do? If not please let me know. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi

I haven't tried using it in quite this configuration but from what you explain it sounds right. You have to break any RAID or similar combination and then use IDE mode and it should work. How have you got the SSD connected ?
