x58A-ud5 Memory can't run 2000Mhz help NEEDED

Hello I hope im posting in the right place!

I have Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5(rev1) Motherboard and I bought new memory today 12GB XMS3 2000Mhz. (x3 4gb tripple channel)

When they run in 2000Mhz my computer just restarts right before 'windows desktop' opens, So I have to put the multiplier to 12 instead of 14(the auto) and get the speed 1700Mhz instead.

Got ahci mode, 1.65 volt by auto, placed them correctly in 1-3-5.(old memory removed), the new memory is supposed to be supported according to corsair's list,
I havnt updated/flash/w/e its called, my BIOS. is this something I should do? ppl say different, can it help?

Are there any solution to this? Why do my computer restart when running with 2000mhz?

What CPU are you using?  This and the QPI/Vtt voltage will be key!

If you are using 920-975 CPU then you may not be able to run 2000Mhz memory for daily 24/7 use, as it will require 4Ghz uncore and that requires very high QPI/Vtt voltage most of the time (usually 1.4-1.5+)

Let us know what CPU you have, then we can tell you what you may need to change to try 2000Mhz, but unless you have 970, 980X, 990X then you probably wont want to run 2000Mhz 24/7 due to the high voltage that will be required.

You don't mention which BIOS version you are currently using but unless it is the latest I would advise using QFlash to update it to the newest version and during the flash at the QFlash homepage make sure that you disable the Keep DMI Data option before continuing.

I have i7 960, nothing clocked, still stock cooler but a Noctua d14 is on its way!

in DXDIAG it says "Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG" if this is my version perhaps!
in cpu-z it says "FC, 12/23/2010"

Also gonna try update the bios! Coming with update in a while!

QPI/Vtt voltage in motherboard volt settings: 1.175

DRAM volt: 1.65 (XMP)
QPI voltage in memory settings: 1.25 (XMP)

It sounds as if you are running FC then at the moment.

It seems to be a bit on the low side there and I don't know what make it is but some of them are not reliable on the actual figure quoted and tend to over estimate!

you would actually get better speeds and more reliable to run it on the SATA2_0 port which is controlled by the Intel ICH10R southbridge chip. Even though it is SATA2 it is better than the "SATA3" Marvell 9128 controller.

Isnt sata2 limited to 300 MB/s ? with marvel i get 360/120 atm, with sata I had like 2xx/90

I only tested few times with AS SSD tho so I can be wrong.

edit: the tests ive done was like  260/100 few times with intel, marvel is alot of variation but around 350/115 mostly, the worst 290/100. Done with the newest drivers that came last month ^^ they improved 'read' by 100 MB/s (had the drivers from motherboard cd b4)

Well in theory you are correct but of course the Marvell 9128 chip never worked properly and so unless they have very recently managed to overcome the problems it wasn't as fast as the SATA2 ports. We have done many tests and checks on the speeds in the past and it has always come out in favour of the SATA2 controller.

Basicly I got it working when I chosed a higher value on BLCK.(a pro told me you need 160 BLCK+ when running 1800+ mhz)
