Realtek HD Audio not working / installing

Realtek HD Audio not working / installing
« on: April 17, 2012, 02:13:00 pm »
Hey Guys

Ive been at this issue now for 3 days and its driving me insane...I built this rig out of my spare parts for my son to play some games on and I cannot get the Realtek HD Audio to work.

Im using Windows 7 Ultimate and cannot for the life of me get these Realtek HD Audio Azalia drivers to install (latest attempt R2.68). Ive tried various driver versions (clean installations every time) and I have all chipset drivers (from original disk) installed. I have also tried updating all chipset drivers but still no joy!! Under the volume control on the taskbar it is showing as No Audio Output Device Is Installed.
Azalia codec is set to auto in the bios.

In device status it is showing as the following:-

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

System Specs~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Motherboard:- GA-P35C-DS3R (775 socket) Bios Rev 2.1
CPU:- Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (stock)
Gfx:- Geforce 8800gt
Ram:- 4gb Corsair dominator

Any help on this would be a massive pain relief ;)

Hi

Firstly have you cleaned off the hard drive completely before you started installing and updating drivers etc ? If not do so now.

Then clear the CMOS  so there is no chance of getting mix ups.

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery or for a couple of hours before replacing it.

Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.

You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device enabling the azalia codec etc and then press F10 to save and exit.

Now you can load all the drivers required like the chipset, sound card, lan etc.

Hi Mantis

Thanks for the reply m8.  Ive tried those methods including a complete format / re-install of win7, cleared the cmos and took the battery out overnight.

OK then. Don't use the drivers off the original disk as they are always out of date even when you first get it. Much better to download the latest ones off the website.

Make sure that the correct component enabled as the default output device under Audio in the Control Panel.
