GA-M68MT-S2P SATA Ports 2 and 3 do not recognise CD/DVD Drives

I have recently changed my mother board to GA-M68MT-S2P. I have two IDE CD/DVD Drives. I have bought two IDE/SATA converters and fitted these to the two drives and connected these to SATA ports 2 and 3 but they do not show up anywhere and do not read CDs etc. I have two hard drives connected to SATA ports 0 and 1. Both of these are working OK.
Do I need to enable these ports - if so - how?

I believe it is the convertors that are causing the issue. Best way to test this theroy is to borrow or buy a sata dvd drive and try it so you can hook it without the convertors. I have used sata to ide convertors for a different board and had the same problem i finally told my friend to just get an ide dvd drive and when i installed it it worked as it should. There is something lost in the translation using adapters.
