It does seem as if this method works for most people so as soon as Gigabyte writes the fix into a BIOS update everyone should be fine.

i built my ivy bridge 3550 and ga-z77-d3h, About 3 days ago. I have F11 bios atm. About the 2nd day it started freezing nonestop,  every 10secs or so, sometimes i couldnt edit bios because it would freeze. Anyways before rma'ing, i messed around with bios settings, booted into safe mode to make sure it wasnt a driver problem, i also disconnected everything to make sure it wasnt the dvd-rom drive or the memory sticks, i had 1 memory stick and tried it in every slot, still nothing, i event tried a 2nd pair of memory sticks. So i tried setting the BCLK to 100.10 as stated here on the forums and now it appears i am problem free, iwas able to boot many times, play rift, ect,  all without a hicup.

Thanks all, but a question troubles me, how did you stumble upon this rare fix?

I am having exactly the same problems. I got my i7 3770K yesterday with GA-Z77-D3H yesterday and been having intermittent problems with freezing too. Heres my specs

GA-Z77-D3H
i7 3770K
2x4GB Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B
OCZ Agility 3 SSD
Powercool 650W modular PSU
Windows 7 Professional 64bit

Ive updated the bios, but that didnt help I have also changed to AHCI instead of the default SATA and am about to Flash my SSD to the latest firmware. As far as I can tell ost of thesae are happening with SSD, that have previously worked on other systems. Wondering if it could be a conflict with the SSD and their controllers. I happened upon this page on OVerclockers UK (where I purchased my hardware).

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=21837228

User ricenpea (9th post down) has come up with a few possible solutions. If it works I will report back. Is anyone else still having problems since the other fixes listed here?

Will also update the findings here to their site once I have been activated on their forums.

Got it, Just updated to F13 and Updated my SSD's to 2.20. Will report back in a week if any freeze.

EDIT: Not getting the freeze crash but had to reboot due to micro-stutter all of a sudden 4 hours later :/

It wasn't a one off, happening regularly now. Changed my BCLK to 100.10. Will report back if this doesn't work.

Same problems here ,and cannot install windows after F12 BIOS update but works fine with one stick of RAM.
Also had problems with ATI Overdrive , that's working with just one stick or RAM now.

Out of all the above, setting the BCLK to100.10 seems to  make it stable, I would give that a shot. also update your Bios to F13, that may help too. No more problems encountered so far. Got my fingers crossed.

It didn't work for me. Just gave me micro-stutter instead. In 2 minds to wait for the next bios update or just replace the board TBH. Currently working with the BLCK workaround but keeping an eye out for issues.

F13 BIOS working fine here.
Turns out one of my RAM modules was faulty (Corsair Vengeance CML8GX3M2A1600C9).

Having weird bios freezing issues here too.  Running F13.  The strange thing is that my system is stable once it boots into windows.  The bios is stable at default settings but freezes randomly after 1-10 seconds after applying an overclock.

Some more detail if it's useful: z77-d3h with core i5-3570k @ 4.4GHz @ 1.22VCore with LLC @ extreme.  If I increase the voltage to 1.3, the bios becomes stable.  So, on the surface it sounds like I'm just overclocking too much right?  But if I just let it boot into windows at those settings (@1.22Vcore), the system is totally stable.  Been running for 2 days with no errors.  Intelburntest for 10min checks out too.

The BCLK didn't fix this issue for me.

This processor doesn't behave quite like most of the others when it comes to overclocking. It will be stable with very few problems to start with but will reach a point where it suddenly becomes overheated and no amount of heatsink or cooling apparatus will manage to remove the heat. I suspect even extreme cooling would have a problem with it after this level. It won't help whether you are using air or water  at this time.
