Marvell Problem and USB Problem Z77x-UD3H
« on: May 25, 2012, 05:17:11 pm »
Repost into correct forum....

I have just build a new system with a Z77x-UD3H motherboard and have a quick question:-

The marvell rear esata ports do not seem to work - I have installed Marvell eSATA Controller Driver (1.2.0.1010), enabled as AHCI mode - there is no device in device manager for this and my external icybox 1tb hd doesnt get detected (works via usb)

1. Should there be a marvell device in system properties?

2. What can I do to fix this problem?

I tried fixing this problem by updating my bios from F5 to F9 (loadd optimised defaults) and this didnt resolve Marvel problem....

I have an issue now when trying to install windows again, the first setup screen the kb and mouse dont work so I cannot install!!!!!

So now I have 2 issues which make me wonder if my board is faulty????

Can someone please help me - I have 7 days to return this board if it is

Try this F11b BIOS.

And try this Marvell Driver 1.2.0.1019.

In Device Manager, you should have like this:

Great thanks mate - the controller is now detected :)

2 problems now:-

1. The external SATA device works for a little while but when you start copying thinsg to it it stops working... ( could it be device or controller?)

2. Bigger issue - I want to reinstall Windows 7 - USB works in BIOS and Windows - but when I try and install windows 7 now the USB devices stop working in the install.......  Please help!!

Hi

Regarding the Windows install I would suggest trying a different maybe smaller USB drive. When you say "stops working" what exactly do you mean ?

USB3.0 doesn't always work with BIOS files and DOS. It is adviseable to use a USB2.0 port for this type of thing.
