GA-A75M-UD2H and USB 3.0 drivers

GA-A75M-UD2H and USB 3.0 drivers
« on: June 23, 2012, 06:15:53 pm »
I've done a web search and believe this motherboard has etron USB 3.0 ports. If I install the AMD chipset drivers, my USB 2.0 devices work when plugged in to the USB 3.0 ports at the back of the computer. I do not have any USB 3.0 devices to test if they work or not. Should I also install the etron USB 3.0 drivers or, if I purchase any USB 3.0 devices in the future, will they work with the currently installed AMD chipset drivers?

Thanks.
Peter.

Yes 2 ports on the back are usb 3.0 and you have one internall connector for usb 3.0 also. The drivers should be included in the chipset drivers if you are unsure you can also install the etron drivers but it isnt needed for the usb 3.0 to work at 3.0

It will work at usb 3.0 speeds either way as long as it is a usb 3 device and cord.

Thanks.
I've looked online at the GA-A75M-UD4H motherboard, its manual and the download options for each of the two motherboards and see that there is an etron chip on that board which my GA-A75M-UD2H does not have. I've revised my opinion and believe my board does not have any etron USB ports, ie USB 3.0 support is provided solely by the AMD chipset drivers, so have uninstalled the etron drivers.
