Smart FAN & possible daisy chaining query

Smart FAN & possible daisy chaining query
« on: June 14, 2012, 08:31:06 pm »
Hi all, the system concerned is in my sig.

My questions to anyone that can help is, rather than have a stand alone fan controller I'd like to splice my 2 120mm fans (on my rad) together using a y-splitter etc & run them off the CPUFAN header in voltage mode (3 pin).  Because SMART FAN will be in voltage mode any ideas if it'll work as I intend or will SMART FAN freak & probably run @ full chat etc.

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

I would advise to check the maximum drain of your two fans when run together and make sure it isn't more than the motherboard can comfortably supply from the single fan header.
