so i have 2x2 then i bought 4x2 and installed.  windows showed 12g for a little while then it started showing that i has 12 installed but 8 usable only.  it would show i had 13 minstalled or 11.  basically i tested each ram in each slot and they all seem ok.  the 2x2 kit is from 2 years ago.  the 4x2 i just bought last week.  i can only detect 12g if its at 1333 or 1600; if i have it at 1120 (4x) it will only post 8 gigs.  what is going on?  weak memory controller?  my temps are fine for the nb 57c.  not even doing a crazy oc

ram works at either 1120 or 1492 but only shows 8 of 12;  bios shows 8, windows shows 8, but cpu shows 12

Mixing multiple memory kits together is not guaranteed to work by memory manufacturers.
