BIOS update only IDE?
« on: July 24, 2012, 04:15:33 pm »
Prior to my unfortunate crash, I was able to see all HDDs to select an update to the BIOS. At the time, I did have a single IDE connected along with 2 SATAs. Now the only option for BIOS update is floppy(which I do not have). The IDE was very old and on its way out, so I removed it. Will the motherboard only take an IDE for bios updates? How can I restore that functionality. Until that happens, I'm stuck at F2.

Thanks!

Like mark i havent used anything but a usb for years but sometimes you can find a bios installer from within windows it is just not a good idea to use them.
