BIOS Checksum error.

I keep getting BIOS checksum error and it recovers from backup BIOS automatically.  The first time it did it from DOS looking prompt, then the last two times it did it with the UEFI pop-up looking window.

Not sure what's going on.  I have BIOS U1g.

It usually does it from a cold boot that I've noticed.  But only one in a while.  I've had the board only a week.

I also hear a buzzing sound when idle.  It comes and goes during usage and sounds like it's trying to sing a sing.  lol

Sounds a bit unusual, doesn't it. I think the best thing to do would be to use @BIOS to run the update to the newest  version available and then synchronise the two BIOSes so that they are identical. Make sure that you get the Main BIOS setup exactly how you want it with Optimised BIOS Defaults and any other tweeks before synchronising as all settings will be copied over.

Synchronise the chips by following these instructions:


From a cold start with the power to the machine switched off press the power button and then enter the BIOS by pressing Del. Then when you get to the main screen press F9. This will bring up an extra screen which will display more information about the two BIOS versions. Assuming they are different exit the BIOS and shutdown. Again press the power button and this time press Alt + F12 where you would normally use the Del key to enter the BIOS. You will find that then your monitor will turn black and you will see:

Press [Enter] to start copying main BIOS to backup BIOS...

When you press Enter more text will appear saying:

Writing BIOS image.... xxxKb OK

Once completed  more text will show:

BIOS successfully recovered! Power off or reset system!

Do as it says. Both Main and Backup BIOS chips now store the same BIOS version. You can now reboot as normal.

I tried as you suggested, but @BIOS says I have the latest BIOS. 

I press F9 inside BIOS, but it only lists 1 BIOS.  U1g.

Now it BSODs after wake from sleep.  It could have happened waking from sleep before and I didn't realize it was in sleep mode.

It gives me an error on EtronXHCI.sys and restarts and I boot normally and everything seems fine.  But every wake from sleep fails.  Even manually setting sleep.

To get any system to "wake from sleep" it has to be 100% stable if not this is exactly the type of issue that arises. I would suggest making sure all your drivers and firmware are up to date and then test everything one by one. Try Memtest86+  first by following these instructions exactly. It can take a long time but it it worth doing properly.

Please follow these instructions exactly.

I would suggest that you download and run the latest version of  Memtest86+ to check your RAM first.

Memtest86+        http://www.memtest.org/

Insert one stick of memory in slot 1 and run Memtest on it for at least 10 complete loops/cycles and if there are no errors then swap it over with the next one and continue untill you have checked all  modules.
 
If you have any errors the module is faulty.

If you have any faulty modules you will have to return the whole kit as they are matched.

Post back when you have done that with the results.

Actually I did that first thing.  I know sleep saves to memory so I figured that was the issue.  I let it run overnight for like 15ish passes, a good 9 hours.

I find it weird it error on EtronXHCI.sys every single time.  I'm not even using the Etron ports, I'm using the Intel USB 2.0 port for wireless keyboard/mouse and no other USB devices.

Any other suggestions?

Did you run Memtest86+ on the memory modules one at a time - eg singly ? If not it might be worth trying it again.

Is anything overclocked ?

It is of course possible the trouble is with the memory controller.

I finally got it working!!

After disabling xHCI and legacy USB without success I just disabled both 3.0 devices and is started working again.

I then went looking for beta driver and tried Etron forst and they had newer driver (112), but their website was super slow (2.5K/S) so I googled and found some 113 drivers from Driver Station.

I then rebooted and loaded system defaults in bios and now all is well.
