I RMA'd my GTX480 SOC and have received terribly faulty card back. It has terrible artifacts in games and locks up the pc within seconds. It is also clocked lower than it should be, does not downlcok to idle and the fan is stuck on 100%.
Here is the email I just sent to returns:
My RMA UKA-<redacted> has completed and I have received a replacement card.
The new card has a number of problems:
The fan runs at 100% all the time.
The speeds are 795mhz core instead of 820, 1002mhz ram instead of 950mhz and 1590mhz shader instead of 1640mhz.
The card does not downlock at all when idle.
Immediately upon loading any 3d game I get flashing green and red 'stars' and the screen will turn black or grey within a few seconds and lockup the pc.
I have now wasted over a week, and £10, to end up with this faulty card.
Please advise on my course of action now as I do not want a faulty card, or one that is below spec of the card I originally bought.
Anyone else been in a similar situation or have advice on how mad I should be getting and/or what I should be expecting gigabyte to do about it?
