« on: September 04, 2012, 01:01:58 pm »
I am running Windows 7 64bit, and when trying to install the latest bios - http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3850#bios

I get an error saying im using the wrong version of windows.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Refer to this link (neighborig topic) and use a bootable USB stick. Make sure first you really want to update as the now available UEFI bioses are kinda fresh and still lack some functions.

i have the z68xp-ud3 mobo, i upgraded fine, it's not a true uefi bios, it's a hybrid, i only found this out when reinstalling win7 and i used a gtp configured ssd as boot drive, since it's not really uefi bios i had major issues, reinstalled twice, then finally just converted my ssd back to mbr partitions. also if you plan to oc the bios just keep the bios version alot of the oc stuff isn't working(at least on my mobo)

Hi!

I have GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 and wanted to update F8 to U1F. I get in bios wrong bios ID or something like that.
Everything should be done right, but i dont know whats wrong.

Wanted to overclock 3570K but this mobo does not overclock with Ivy bridge, does U1F bios update might help or not?

Hi there,

sadly you cannot use QFlash or @BIOS to upgrade from the old Award BIOS to the AMI BIOS. To do this you need to create a bootable USB pendrive then coppy all of the files that are downloaded in the BIOS folder to the pendrive. (Check here: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?topic=2441.msg89013#msg89013 ) for some help if you are not sure how to do this.

Not sure if the AMI BIOS will allow for overclocking of your CPU.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.
