How long do I have to send my MB in after RMA approval?
« on: October 23, 2012, 06:16:20 am »
My warranty ends November 10th. I want to bring my whole computer in for repairs locally just to find out if it is the motherboard or not. But with limited time, I'm worried it won't be done by the time the warranty is up.

So by being approved before November 10th, does that grant me extended time to send the motherboard in? Or does the motherboard have to be at Gigabytes doorstep by November 10th or it is no deal? I am really in a pickle here.

Hi and welcome.

You should really ask Gigabyte technical people for a definite answer on that one. I would have said that as long as it was notified and a RMA was set up then you would be alright but that is only my personal opinion.

Please expect several days for a reply.

The official date the warrantee runs to is three years from the date of manufacture which is part of the serial number, is that what you are basing your end date on ?

To be fair the warrantee isn't there for a sort of faultinding exercise anyway. You are supposed to find the problem and then arrange for Gigabyte to repair the motherboard for you. It is quite possible that they could make a charge for labour if they find there is nothing wrong with the product.
