GTX 670 windforce only using 500-600mb of ram while gaming???

Ive tried a few things already, the bios is up to date... i reinstalled drivers... used old drivers... right when i got this 2 weeks ago i remember afterburner posting 1500-1600mb while gaming which is noraml. now recently i notice it was never going above 700-800....

 I unistalled and did a driver sweep ,installed the new nvidia drivers and now it does go above 600mb!!!??? is my card bad or is there something i missed?? im about to RMA this if i cant get it fixed.

Why don't you run some benchmarks on the card and compare with others?

Maybe the game/s you are playing could be more CPU dependent than GPU.........Therefore not taxing your GPU as much.

ive already done all the basics, benchamrks still show 400-600mb being used.

This is very sad after only a week this card goes to crap and spending 400$ you would think there was a little more quality control, just very inconvienent.

ok im DL right now, but this is exactly whats going on.. im playing planetside 2 right now and it was only showing 800-900mb being used but this is a beta game and still is being optimized but that doesnt explain why it showed 900mb still when in certain situations while playing it would bump up to 70-75% on the GPU.

 Now when i ran BF3 it was showing the same thing.... so i looked around and was told to use driver sweeper to reinstall drivers etc... well i did and right after i i cleaned out of everything and installed the newest drivers... went on to play the same games.... the memory usage dropped almost by HALF! ?? and now i get reading 400-600mb on planetside 2 and 700-maybe 800mb tops on bf3.

i ran it for 15 minutes and had msi afterburner running, it showed 250mb the whole time after bumping up to 400mb then back to a constant mid 200mb... im about to reformat my hard drive because i think i deleted some imp files through driver sweeper and didnt know it..

If you ran it for about 10mins without any artifacting or errors then I think you are worrying about nothing. The card will only use the amount of Vram that is necessary for the application and will use more or less at any point. Why would you expect it to run flat out if it doesn't need to? MMO's tend to be more CPU intensive than GPU.

i understand that but ive ran multiple benchmarks that are very heavy on GPUs and its still only showing 400-600mb. i ordered a asus 680 to replace this and sending it back to amazon.
