78LMT-USB3 and Piledriver?

Does anyone know if the 78LMT-USB3 will support the upcoming Piledriver CPUs? Or is it still too early to tell?

It does fully support all current FX processors.

If it s version 4.1 it might be ,as i see they have updated in august this year the BIOS.

In your place i would not install a 125W TDP Bulldozer on it even if it is on the list ,just to be safe.
You should ask gigabyte directly about this.

Bulldozer on the other hand sucks less power and heats less than Phenom 2 at similar TDP ratings.

There's no reason why the 78LMT-USB3 wouldn't support a 125w Bulldozer or Phenom CPU. It has a very good 4+1 VRM setup.

Infact, the GA-78LMT-S2P is pretty much the same motherboard, yet, it supports 140w CPUs, and doesn't even have a VRM heatsink. I'm thinking Gigabyte didn't want to validate 125w Phenoms (the most popular AMD CPUs right now)  purely to force people to buy a more expensive board.

You can very well use a 4100 FX CPU on this board  and overclock it to 4,0-4,2 Ghz along some high speed RAM.It runs smooth , it heats and consumes  less than a Phenom 2.
In spite of the benchmarking hype , in real world applications you will see that is an excellent CPU and gets the job done.You will be surprised as i was about it s capabilities.
It is 95W TDP ,it is cheap and has a good ,quite silent ,stock cooler.

I am waiting for Piledriver to launch, because I want to run either a FX4300 or FX6300. However, I originally wanted to run a Phenom 955 or 965; you can see why I was a bit annoyed by the lack of 125w Phenom support.

Worst-case-scenario is I'll run a FX4100 or FX6100...

The FX4300 is suppose to launch at $130 USD; but I know they aren't exactly fair on pricing to European markets.

I hope the price will be lower than that.The 5800K is priced 130 USD and it also features a GPU.It would be strange to see the FX 4300 at 130 USD and not lower.
