G1 Sniper 3 or M3 and 3 Monitors
« on: October 09, 2012, 12:32:20 pm »
The specification for the GPU outputs is below

Integrated Graphics Processor:

    1 x D-Sub port
    1 x DVI-D port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200
    * The DVI-D port does not support D-Sub connection by adapter.
1 x HDMI port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200
    1 x DisplayPort, supporting a maximum resolution of 2560x1600

I have a HMDMI Monitor & a Dsub Monitor and also looking at the option of using teh display port to VGA converter for a third monitor.

I have searched but could not find any definitive answer as to the functionality of this set up, it looks possible;e but the posts in the forum seem to cast doubt on the possibility of running three monitors of the standard board & built in graphics. Can it be done?

I am about to but this set up not sure yet which of the two boards Price availability and case could define this.

Looking at Antec case in upright tower position running the Antec Kuhler 20-920 prefilled system for Cpu cooling.?

You don't specify which GPU you have, but integrated HD3000 only support up to 2 monitors if I recall correctly.  The only way to get three displays with integrated is through thunderbolt display adapters.  I have the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH that has two display ports and I've seen others do it while searching for various help.  Otherwise, you'll most likely need a discrete video card with 3+ adapter output.  I know eyefinity and whatever nvidia calls there three monitor setups.

Luck

I just looked up your CPU at Intel.com and it says, "# of displays supported : 3"

http://ark.intel.com/products/65523

It doesn't say how, but there is a newer, "Intel wireless display" feature that it may be referencing.  not sure.

ps.  Forgot to mention my horrible luck with those Antec water coolers.  I bought a 620 model and the first one had a failed fan controller after a few months, the second one had a constant grinding noise in the pump (the first one had the noise for a few days and was fine).  The rhird one I just got back and decided to sell it and buy another Corsair H100.  I have had great luck with it so far(6-months).  The 620 ran very warm.  Just a little better than stock heatsink under full load, although the 920 should cool much better if reliable.

Also, what are you using your computer for?  3 displays with integrated graphics won't power much, but basic 2d apps.

Yes I was reading up on it recently and it is called WiDi. Sorry that I can't be sure about the number of supported monitors though.
