Why won't My PC Boot From DVD Drive

Why won't My PC Boot From DVD Drive
« on: November 17, 2012, 04:52:48 pm »
Hi
Now this should be simple to do but for some reason my PC just won't boot from a DVD (Windows7). I have a GIGABYTE GA-Z77=DS3H and I have changed the SATA mode to AHCI, and when I restart the PC I go into the boot sequence (F12), where I select my DVD drive but it just keeps booting from the C drive.
What am O doing wrong?
It only has 1  SATA LG DVD drive
Any Suggestions

Hi

Have you changed the boot order in the BIOS to optical first then hard drive?

If you have you should get a message before Windows loads that says something like "press any key to boot from cd drive".

Tap the space bar when it appears and you will boot from the optical drive.

Hope that helps

Hi and welcome.

When the computer is booting , at the same time as you would press the DEL key for entering the BIOS, tap the F12 key and you will be given the option of different drives to boot from. This is just a one off option and will revert to your normal boot option once completed.
