gigabyte H61M-DS2 having a booting problem, I am facing pls help
« on: December 05, 2012, 02:31:26 pm »
i purchased one h61m-ds2 mother board and built a system with g630 intel dual core,500 gb sesagate hdd and corsoir value select 4 gb ram(1 module)
me using cheap china made 450 watt psu. i built  the system about a month ago. the mother board is imported to india  on june ,12. it has f7 bios manufactured on march ,12(probaly).
IT has booting issue  but intermitent.when the booting problem happens it entered in dual bios uefi screen ,instead of usual gigabyte logo and then system stops(front leds indicaters, cpu fan and psu fans also) and then start after  2 to 3 sec. this start and stop happens usually twice and then it ultimately boot.
now this booting symtom happens, eg 2 out of 10 times.
sometimes if start immediately after shut down it happen again.
i have set the bios to optiomized default.
after booting no problem. it can run more than 2 to 3 hrs(didn't test for more than 4 hrs).
pls guide,is it a mother board issue or sud i replace psu first.
the psu has only 10A in 12 volt range. pls guide

my Z68XP-UD3 sometimes does the same.  I can't imagine it's a power supply issue, I have a half decent on which didn't cause problems with my previous board

powersupply filter capaciters may have some role for this type of problem as it ios intermitent

yes changed the psu with 500w(cheap   under 15$)  and also clear cmos and  change the ram slot(me using 1 4gb module)  and changed the sata port for hdd  still  now.
any way  for h61m-ds2  rev2.2  fresh F8 BIOS  available.  sud i try that or it is mobo problem

I have exactly the same problem but with GA-Z77X-UD3H. After some time I figure out that the problem is with compatibility with some corsair memory. Disable XMP profile in bios, use SPD setting or manually set timings. You can also increase voltage on memory. Try it, maybe it will help you.

i think there is not many tweaking opportunity  for memory setting for h61m-ds2  bios. only easy tune 6 has option to set voltage of memory.setting it abv  1.50,will it do any harm.
any way will chek again, is there any setting for ram in bios.
me non-tech.
can i change the another same type memory module of corsoir(4 gb value select) or use competable(as listed in their site for h61m-ds2) 2 gb ram.
i have no problem with 2 gb ram.
