GA-M56S-S3 Bios Error

GA-M56S-S3 Bios Error
« on: December 16, 2012, 11:06:15 pm »
Hola compadres

When booting my system I get the following Bios erros:

1 short, 1 long Beep

Now I get the same error when I deliberately stop the CPU fan so the errorcode seems to be solved.

Question: How do I determine the source of this error?

Suspects are: PSU, CPU, Mainboard, Fan.
Already bought new RAM for a possible upgrade and a new PSU so i am wondering if it is really worth finding out but still curiosity gets the better of me.

Thanks for the help

1 short and 1 long tells me 'motherboard'.
What processor are you using? Anything more than an Athlon 64 puts a lot of strain on the VRMs. So much so that I blew mine when upgrading to a PhenomII 955
CALL &BD19 (If you need to ask you don't need to know)

Athlon II Dualcore 4800+ so well within Limits according to the datasheet.

Thanks for the answer but it is a bit confusing. Why does the comp run smooth after that errorcode? It does start and run after all.
Today my coldstart did NOT produce this beep pattern just the POST OK short beep.
Never get this error during warmstart or reboot.
