GA-Z77X-UD5H USB Bootable Windows 7 Installation help
« on: December 01, 2012, 12:42:04 pm »
Used Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool to create a USB Windows 7 Installation flash drive.

I can't get it to install using the USB flash. I've confirmed the usb flash works by installing windows on another machine.
I keep getting "Setup was unable to create a new system partition"

New GA-Z77X-UD5H mobo with default settings loaded
New Samsung 830 SSD

Tried every single SATA port on the motherboard and no luck.
Using a windows 7 DVD I was able to install, but it doesn't work with USB, anyone have luck?

Don't use USB 3 to install, the drivers aren't installed and you will get issues. Use the options and format the drive that you need. Then install Rapid storage drivers using the Floppy version to install them. After that you should be able to insall.

Floppy? I haven't used that in a decade. Don't think the mobo even support it anymore.

Anywayz, I gave up on the usb. Couldn't get it win7 to install using 2.0 or 3.0 ports. Gave up and bought a DVD drive to install.

you may plug your usb drive into the USB port which located below the Lan port

I think that you misunderstood my reply. The floppy version is the one that can be uploaded to a usb 2 drive and loaded with a new install. Some still call it the floppy version but i's basically the satnd alone driver.

Sorry for the confusion.
