SSD Boot up issue

SSD Boot up issue

Hi ive recently installed a

Samsung 840 ssd into my

Win 7 64bit
Gigabyte P55A-UD5 {with latest Bios}

on boot up i get a black screen showing

** This version supports only Hard Disk and CDROM drives **
Please wait. This will take few seconds.

usually about 8seconds

i have AHCI enabled in Bios
is this something that ive done wrong?
ive no other HDD's attached yet.

Hi there,

your link isn't working so I can't see an image but I believe the message you are seeing is normal and refers to PCI-e drives rather than SSD as I had a similar message on the GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 motherboard.

There should be no problem with using the SSD and, if you check in BIOS it is most probably being recognised OK.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.
