After a year of stable operation, my system has decided to start blue-screening.
Windows 7 extended memory test reveals "hardware problems have been detected"
System specs:
CPU: Phenom II 555 BE (never overclocked or core unlocked)
Memory: G-Skill Ripjaws Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL (I've tried other modules, with similar results, so it's not the RAM)
Memory is unganged and tighter timings running at 1333
PSU: SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold
GPU: ATI Radeon 5870
HD: 2 WD black...750GB...something, 1 Samsung spinpoint 1.5TB..something. (All set to RAID ready, but not RAIDed)
So... a couple of questions:
1: where the heck is the serial number so I can determine if I can RMA the thing?
2: Assuming RMA is not viable, can I upgrade to a 970 or 990 chipset and still be able to use my hard drives with no data loss? (I understand I may have to reinstall the OS..maybe)
2.1: I have a spare GA-78LMT-S2. Can I use that board in my system until I get a replacement (either RMA or new?)
