X58A- UD3R USB 2.0 problems
« on: May 28, 2013, 08:03:41 pm »
Hey, guys,
This board makes me run out of patience now. Every time me I turn on the computer, the only way to make my mouse and keyboard work is to plug them into USB 3.0, which are the only two usb. After like 10 second when the win 7 show up, I can hear the sound that the other usb 2.0 ports are disable for no reason. I try to go to BIOS menu to set up something, but every time when I push "del" on my keyboard, the system will not do anything but restart.

Even though I reboot the system, nothing is changed.

I need your help so much.

Thanks

Fatman

What is your version of window?

Otherwise, have you tried to  connect your USB device(s) to the Intel controlled USB 2 port(s)
check your manual... see page 20

I wait your answer to continue help you...

Hi again,

Maybe uninstall all drivers USB.

If you want, clean register base and other part of system  with CCleaner:
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

If you have the patience to look at the sites of the manufacturer drivers the most up to date, it would be better.

But if I am you,  I do not would install the USB3 drivers. Not immediately.

After the uninstallation, I would shut down the computer.

I plug something into the USB2 port to see if it works.

Note for BIOS:
Have you set these parameters  Enabled or Disabled or Auto?

xHCI preboot
xHCI mode
HS port switchable
xHCI stream
USB 2 controller
XHCI hand-off
EHCI hand-off
onboard USB3

Normaly this are Enabled ...and Auto for xHCI mode

Note :
What is your windows version? 64 bit ultimate , Service Pack 1, ... ?

Come back here to give me news.

Hi again,  :P

About USB3,
Find Intel driver:
 Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver

But before installl, check infos in Readme file, by exemple.
Check if this drivers is ok for X58 chipset.

Because I am not sure , if this drivers is good for your situation.

Otherwise , wait for infos by other members of forum.

Best regards.

Hey, Thanks for your advice.
The thing is, I can't even go into the bios menu. Every time I try to go into the bios menu, the system does nothing but restart. Today it's getting worse. When I turn on the computer, it says that it failed to start last time and show me two options: one is to let system do the repair thing by itself, the second one is to star the system normally. But my  USB keyboard doesn't work at all. So it just brings me into self repair and I can't do anything.

I kind of feel like I ran out of patience right now. I am ordering a PS/2 keyboard to see if I can make some change.

I think about some event, it may be that the keyboard is damaged.
Try another keyboard if possible.

Try with a PS / 2 keyboard.

Maybe a another person help you, by pass a keyboard.

Ok. It's getting even worse. I changed to another usb keyboard which was never used on my computer before. The system is not even showing anything after that bios page. It keeps restarting and restarting...

Honestly this motherboard played me around for about one year now. I lost hope on it.

Hi again,

In BIOS, have you make a ''Load Optimized Defauts'' ??
