GV-R795WF3-3GD Overclock VDDC LOCKED WTF ? !

Hello, i buy a gigabyte 7950 3gb wf3 last week.

I try to overclock with ccc : Max gpu 1200 max mem : 1575

With many test , oc stable @ 1050 gpu and 1300 mem, SRSLY ?

i can make 1200 gpu and 1575 mem , but so many artefact in game or crash ati drivers.

i read post of voltage locked , but when i use power control in ccc i make +20 % and i can see under GPU-z i am @ 1.250 volt under 3d soft ,

So its a cake lie or what ? why gpu-z say me iam at 1.250 v and i can't make a 1100 mhz gpu ? srsly ?


other thing, i can see this under gpu-z




my bios are 0.15.029 an f43 or f45 my question is : if i flash my card with bios from 7970 or 7970ghz i can more oc or unlock voltage ?

I have the same card with the same issues as you. I'm running F3 bios.

I'm starting to believe Gigabyte will not fix their cards or much of anything else.
I recommend not buying anymore gigabyte products until they change their ways.

The same thing is with the 7970 model, tried everything possible to up the voltage but nothing helped. Finally decided to get rid of the card.

we have not a same card , i have a 0.15.029 bios , vga@bios say me my bios is " fx0"

My ASIC is : 57.6% @ 1065 gpu and 1400 memory

And official answer from gigabyte to my problem was :

flash ur card with f43 bios , okay i read some of fail flash with this bios ( with vag@bios tool and usb kay dos mode with command -unlockrom) also, we have a dual bios ( 2 positions 1 and 2 on the card )

1 position is the writable bios and 2 write protect ? on help guide i can read ' 1 backup 2 factory default but iam not good in english....

Be careful because both bioses can be flashed and corrupted.

but i don't know who is the bios protect , 1 or 2 ?

when i find writable bios i go flash with f43 and see....

I got this same card for replacement of my faulty msi 7950. I can run heaven 4.0 ok with 1.1ghz on core and 1.35ghz on memory@1.25V, But it crashed at crysis 3 with those settings and im back to 1050mhz on core and 1.35 on memory at 1.25V... im really disappointed with this, seen ppl get 1.3ghz on core with MSI and other cards :/.. 1050mhz on core with 1.25V is just WRONG!!!

I updated my bios to FY1 and can now get stable 1175/1550 clocks at 1.125v. If your not using HDMI you may want to try one of the new releases

so you got the 7950 REV 2 card?? The one with comes stock 1ghz with 1.25volts and its voltage locked? Can you confirm? Never updated bios on gpu so i wanna make sure i do it for nothing, lol. Got no use on HDMI.

Yup lucky me Rev. 2 locked at 1.125v lol. Originally couldn't get over 1050/1450 stable, just re-ran a few benches at 1200/1575 and ran fine. Here's the GPU-Z with bios version and another with temps and clocks. I suppose if I wanted to try for higher clocks I could install AfterBurner but I'm happy with these clocks....for now

PLZ ! how u flash ur 7950 with new " FY1 " bios ?

i try but atiwinflash fail : " rom programing fail "

i try FX1 but its a 0.15.026 bios and i have a FX0 by default ( 0.15.029 )

with FX1 its same problem, can't overclock after 1068 gpu.....
