Use USB keyboard on a USB hub with Z77-DS3H F10b bios?

As above, using a hub means I am unable to configure bios/UEFI without plugging the usb dongle directly into the motherboard. Is this normal? Should I be using a particular setting?

Their is a lot of things that don't run off some hubs. Yes you will have to plug into the computer and not the hub.

They have just start where you can use a USB keyboard in the bios on most motherboards. That is in the past 5 years.

On most Intel boards there is no PS2 port. So yes you will have to plug right into the computer and not the hub to do work in the bios.
