Hi all
My first post here so hope you can assist.
I have a Gigabyte GA-H61MA-D3V ver 2.0 and have just bought the Gigabyte Geforce GTX 650 Ti off Amazon (arrived yesterday!) and after installing fairly seamlessly I noticed that my CPU fan stopped working - it just clicks round a few degrees every 10 secs or so. My previous GPU is the onboard Intel HD 4000 whichauto recognises when another GPU is inserted.
I tried a game briefly with the new card (before noticing the CPU fan) which works really well but then starts to slow up and have problems so quickly stopped that and shut down.
I removed the card, reconnected my monitor to the mobo onboard GPU and everything works fine again.
Ive tried overriding CPU fan speed control in BIOS which overrides it on the onboard GPU but no change on the GTX.
If I put CPU fan failure alarm on in BIOS this is set off if I put the new GTX in and power up.
Ive disabled auto detect external GPU in BIOS to just use external GPU - same problem.
If I leave the GTX card in, unplug power to it and connect monitor back to motherboards intyernal GPU all works as normal.
Ive checked for BIOS update and had some hope as there was a new BIOS F5 with upgraded support for PCIEx16 Graphics cards - flashed over okay but alas no change with the CPU fan issue.
The card is seated correctly in the PCIx16 slot and has its own PCIe power supply (only one PSU socket on this card). My PSU is a CoreXstream 500W PSU so should be okay I would have thought. CPU fan only needs about 0.28A and the problem occurs even before the graphics card is under any load
Other bits not sure if relevant -
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel i7 3770 CPU
8BG RAM
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-H61MA-D3V
Graphics Card GV-N65TOC-2GI Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB
Any ideas would really be appreciated
I would have thought with both products being Gigabyte this should have been a no brainer ??
