I have always been an Asus person, but now I hear that gigabyte is producing faster, dependable motherboards with more resilient diodes and capacitors, making their motherboards, one tough motherboard! I learned this with a short clip from Newegg, but failed to write down the model number of these particular motherboards. I'm looking to build a new AMD platform (64-bit support) with the processor being "quad" and the fastest memory I can get my hands on (with a minimum of 12 GB) with solid-state drives.

So I would please ask anyone to mention the model number or numbers of these particular motherboards that the representative of gigabyte was describing. Also, do any of these particular motherboards have onboard video? My current motherboard does and is okay in my book because I use it for very old games and every day display, but I am interested in high definition display. Thank you in advance, sincerely.

While I use dedicated graphics myself, I have to say that the AMD Llano and Trinity chips have impressed me greatly.
I have built systems for friends and relatives who have been on tight budgets, and the performance offered has blown me away, I am fairly certain my next laptop will contain and AMD APU unless the new Haswell GT3 beats AMD's New Richland

As for Gigabyte motherboards, they do offer incredible reliability, all brands are doing really well at the moment, my only gripe with Asus was their lack of windows 7 support at launch, especially with relatively new boards, but no-one manufacturer is completely flawless.

Enjoy building the AMD rig, do check for upcoming Richland APU's as they should offer a performance boost over the current generation.
