Boot Loop on B75m-HD3

Hi there,

I just got my new B75m-HD3 ordered from amazon, however this mobo will automatically reboot my machine before I can reach BIOS (less than 5-7 seconds mostly, sometimes even shorter). I used another mobo (ASRock H67m-iTX) to test out all of my other hardwares and they all just work fine. Any ideas?

My hardware (installed while the boot loop persists)
CPU: Intel E3-1230 v2 with original Intel CPU cooler
Memory: one Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX
Power: Seasonic X 460

Anyway to fix it? Or I would ask amazon to replace for another one.

I do not understand why you have this CPU model if the chipset does not have the same technical characteristics (advanced technologies) of CPU.

Why do not choose this chipset:

And this mobo, by exemple:

Have you make a Clear CMOS?
And if you are able to go BIOS,
Make a Load Optimized Defaults
Reboot after

And return in Bios for make a change to:

In Bios have you able to change a timing, in SPD section, for:
DDR3-1600 at a low latency timing of 9-9-9-27 at 1.65V or 1.5v if possible...

I take for exemple : GA-Q67M-D2H-B3 and GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 (But Gigabyte said cannot support Xeon processor )

Selects DVMT Mode used by Internal Graphics Device.
DVMT/FIXED Memory

Intel TXT(LT) Configuration
Intel TXT support only can be enabled/disabled if SMX is enabled. VT and VT-d Support must also be enabled prior to TXT.

I don't view setting for SMX (But Support must also be enabled prior to VT and VT-d)
What means SMX? (Safer Mode Extensions, i thiks)
VT and VT-d (Support must also be enabled prior to TXT).

And this mobo have a LAN Intel 82579 chip (10/100/1000 Mbit) ? Yes or No ?

Why this motherboard are not parameters for enabled-disabled VT and VT-D ?
What is the logic for develop other parameters like sub-section : Intel IGD SWSCI OpRegion?

Hi,

I don't know what "advanced technology"  is (just looked into wiki, but still not fully understand). What I want is just an high C/P value,  i7-like processor without HD3000, so I picked this one. It is compatible with this mobo so why not? There's tons of success examples with similar build, especially for hackintosh.

So, the problem is I can't even get into BIOS (with HD Radeon 6850) because the system up time is so short. I tried CMOS reset, unplug power cord, remove battery, but none of them work.

BTW I have an i3-2100 on my shelf. I tested this one (I believe my ram won't run at 1600MHz) and the problem was still there. Anyway, seems someone else also had the same problem, I'll just replace another one and see how it goes.

Have you tried with just the onboard video? So you can check what bios version you have.

Just got a new board from Amazon. Everything works fine now. I think I just got a faulty board.
