GA-X58A-UD3R wont boot with newly upgraded ram at correct timings / frequency

Motherboard: GA-X58A-UD3R
Processor: i7 920
Ram (just upgraded):CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory with Air Fan Model CMT12GX3M3A2000C9 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145329

With the ram at default timings the computer boots fine, but when I try to run XMP it fails. No beep codes, just on and off cycling. Any suggestions?

You will have to jump through hoops, but I had six of these boards and the best I could do PC3 12800 - 1600 memory.

The CPU only supports 1600 memory. Yes is nice to be able to run that memory. Plus you are really not going to see that big of improvement.

The only thing I would try is set the speed and volts. Forget the XMP. I do have some 2000 memory.

I'll try it on my board to see if I can get it to work. I tried once before and all I got it to say that I was OC-ing the memory.

Thanks for the feedback, I have it running at 1600 right now. What about the timings? Should I leave them alone? How do I manually adjust the voltage (it's grayed out and I can't select it)

I just tried it on my board and the best I can do is 1866. There is no setting for 2000. The next step is 2133.

My volts are set at 1.600. So you can only run that memory at 1866. The next step would be OC-ing the memory.

Plus I don't have the lastest bios either. That computer is setup so I can test other parts in it and it has 4 OS on it.
