OC Ignition - 8 Series OC Motherboards

Hi all,

I find infos about OC Ignition on 8 Series OC Motherboards.

=================================================================

OC Ignition (Patent Pending)

There are occasions as an overclocker when you want to shut down the system
without turning off the power to other parts of the system,
for example the drives and system fans.
This is where OC Ignition is really useful.

Hitting the OC Ignition button gives continuous,
uninterrupted power to all the motherboard's connected drives and system fans,
but not to the CPU (In other word, without powering the CPU).

This is useful in 'cold bug' situations when you need to heat the CPU to a bootable temperature,
but you'd prefer the system fans to keep spinning, reducing moisture build-up.

Overclockers using i-ram drives may also want to maintain SATA power and
not risk losing their customized OS install while users with regular SSDs or
HDDs also know that frequent powering on and off is harmful to your drives in the long-term.

By Maintaining SATA power, OC Ignition prevents damage to
your drives as well as data loss for i-ram users.

OC Ignition is also useful in allowing users to pre-test water cooling system setups,
and even allows case mod demos to be developed without having to fully turn on the PC.

OC Ignition: Feature Summary
• Powers fans and drives without booting or powering the CPU
• Active fans help to reduce moisture build-up when using LN2
• Maintain continuous uninterrupted power to drives
• Safely powers water cooling systems for safe leak checking
• Test demo and case mod systems without needing to boot the system

Step 1 : Assemble and pre-test your system

1.Power up all system equipment's before power on CPU.
2.Check all power wires are connected.
3.PSU remains power on to avoid OC PSU reboot.
4.Keep system fans running to avoid LN2 ‘Cold-Bug’ issue
5.Keep PCI-e iRAM product working
6.On-shop DAMMY demo (all lights , fan up without CPU/DDR

Page 21 in the manual of the GA-Z87X-OC:
OC Ignition button
The OC Ignition feature maintains power to your motherboard and
connected components while the system is shut down.
After pressing this button, be sure to press the power button to take effect.

But is not clear for How to return to normal usage of computer:

So I find infos on Corsair Web site:

Solved:
-PSU-powerswitch on
-press the ignition button
-press power button of your pc: fans and everything else is turned on, but not the board/CPU/memory
-press the power button a second time: PC starts!
