Gigabyte GTX 670 OC Firmware update to F5 problems
« on: June 20, 2013, 02:14:34 pm »
Hello guys,

i updated the firmware of my GPU from F4 to F5 and now my PC didnt boot anymore.

My motherboard is a Asus P67P8 Rev. 3.0 and after the upgrade to F5 it refuses to boot.

The only way to boot the PC was to pull out the battery of my mainboard so that i could do a CMOS Reset.

I have found the problem to be the UEFI Boot in the Mainboard that i used sucessfull with firmware F4.

For some reason i cant boot with UEFI boot anymore with F5.

Could you give me some help please?

Thanks in advance

Greets

Hello,

thanks for replying.

Here my specifications:

System: Windows 8 Pro x64
Monitor: BenQ XL2420T
Power Supply: OCZ MK III 750W
Mainboard: Asus P8P67 Rev.3.0 (The latest Bios 3602)
SSD 1: Crucial M4 128GB
SSD 2: Samsung 830 256GB
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 1TB
CPU: Intel i5 2500K @ 4 GHz
GPU: Gigabyte Windforce GTX670 OC 2GB (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4211#ov)
Sound: Creative Labs Recon 3D
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X 8GB

Like i said.

I am now using GPU@BIOS F4 with UEFI Boot ON on my Motherboard.

If i do a firmware upgrade to my GPU my PC wont boot/POST anymore.

The PC is on that POST screen of the Motherboard, but to this time it is impossible to boot into BIOS or windows.

The only thing i can do, is a CMOS reset and after that i can get again into BIOS and deactivate UEFI boot.

With UEFI boot OFF i can even start windows again, but the case is, i want that ultra fast boot that can only be gained with both things working normaly. (Motherboard and GPU)

Could you take a look into this problem?

Thanks in advance
