At work... This is from memory of last weekend's attempt to load XP OS.
Built a new PC. Followed the manual, set RAID in BIOS (Intergrated Peripherals), CTRL-I to setup RAID-10, drives recognized, all seems good. Insert XP (upgrade version) install CD, runs (loads initial drivers), F6 to install HDD drivers, insert floppy (created from Gigabyte CD and downloaded from website), select Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO/PCH SATA RAID Controller, then errors out. Floppy drive seems to be working.
Tried slipstream, first method was grueling, need towork in DOS, update files in Notepad, etc. No help. Used nLite, easier to use, created .ISO fine. Copied as bootable CD, didn't work.
I'm fairly sure the XP upgrade version should be fine to use; it should get to a point where it will ask for key of previous version.
I think problem might be how I burn .ISO to CD. Using Roxio EZ CD Creator.
Any ideas?
