So i replaced my Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro with the brand new Creative SoundBlaster ZxR today and ran in a strange issue.
I first removed all old software of the X-Fi card, then rebooted followed by shutting down the PC. Before opening up the case as always i hold the Power Button for 20 seconds so all power is drained. I removed the old X-Fi and installed the new ZxR. Then i gave power to the system again and pressed the power button. Right after it the Gigabyte Logo the automatic BIOS recovery started because for some reason the Main BIOS got corrupted. Well fine, it recovered with F3 and it started up just fine after at.
So i went to try something out...:
1) Start PC with ZxR.
BIOS Fine
2) Shut down PC.
3) Remove ZxR.
4) Start PC.
BIOS Fine
5) Shut down PC.
6) Install ZxR.
7) Start PC.
BIOS Corrupt
7) Remove ZxR.
8 ) Start PC.
BIOS Fine
9) Install ZxR.
10) Start PC.
BIOS Corrupt
So as soon as it detects a new expansion card the BIOS screws itself up.
Now i been using Gigabyte Motherboards for a long time, but this one is causing nothing but trouble. Also i cannot flash to F5 because it's unstable for NVIDIA cards.
I'm strongly considering ditching this board and look for something else.
