Where does the ssd plug in.
« on: September 23, 2013, 10:25:20 pm »
Hi all, a simple question as I'm new to such high tech.

Where does my ocz3 ssd plug in for max effect. In the blue sata 2 or white sata 3 ports? Any other tweaking or general advice is also welcome. Cheers.

If the SSD is a sata-3 than it will connect to the white ports. Plus make sure you set the sata ports to AHCI for better performance.

Memory just set the speed from 1333 to 1600 no XMP profile needed. If you are running 1600 memory.

I'll give that a go right now. I just set it to AHCI (as it was on IDE when I installed). I used this informative thread to do that -

The memory's already running at 1600. Much obliged for the swift reply.  ;)

Much quicker, my transfer rate has doubled, according to HDTUNE, and I'm started up and online in 10 seconds. Superb. Cheers Dmdilks.
