Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 and AMD X6 FX-6300 3.5GHz

 Hey, in a few day I will be upgrading my old pc and buying a new one. I decided to go with AMD X6 FX-6300 3.5GHz and Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 however after reading CPU compatibility list (http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3901) I find out that this CPU is supported by BIOS ver. F13 and newer what if the motherboard I will buy will have older version of the BIOS? will I still be able to boot my PC and upgrade the BIOS after or ... just want to know what should I expect before buying. Any help would be appreciated.

Best bet is to make a bootable usb drive and put the bios version on it you need. Then after you build computer go ingo bios and have it boot from usb. That has worked for me not sure if it will for you. If not then you will to have a cpu that is supported in able to flash bios.

Try your luck ,if it s a new revision it will work most probable.

3,5 Ghz on paper as it will be able to work higher than the factory CPB 4,1Ghz in daily use with small tweaks  
It will reach the first turbo state at 3,8Ghz most of the time by default.

Get some Athlon/Phenom 2 CPU from a friend and update before reinstalling the FX 6300 ,if you have issues.
Get a minimum rev 3.0 with this boards as the prior ones will not receive BIOS updates ,old AWARD BIOS.

If it s old send it back to the reseller,get rev 3.0.

Hey, thanks for the replays but it's way too much hassle not gonna play lottery here and go with different motherboard model
