Gigabyte X58A-UD9 realtek audio driver detection issue

I have a custom system that's been running fine for a while. But required a MB replacement when one of the PCI-E 16x slots started playing up. The replacement board worked well until and Microsoft update can through (not sure which one!) and now have issues with the on-board Realtek audio not detecting in Windows 7 64bit.

Now I've done a lot of thing to try and sort this, even wiped the Boot drive and reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows7 with full updates. The only audio devices that install are the AMD HDMI audio drivers and the Logitech USB headset and Webcam. I've unplugged all USB devices and tried a number of fixes with only one success, but that only worked once and the problem came back.

Has anyone else had issues with the onboard Realtek Audio not detecting in Windows7?
