« on: October 31, 2013, 08:38:50 pm »
Hi all, I am having an issue installing Kingston 10600 cl9 memory.
Whenever I install it into the motherboard, the pc would not boot. I have KVR1333d3n9/4g installs
And the pc works fine, but with KVR13n9s8/4, the pc would boot to the windows logo screen
and restart.
Can anyone lend some assistance please.
Thank you.

Hi Sheriff,  :D

You have :

GA-H55M-USB3 (rev. 2.0)
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3444#ov
or
GA-H55M-USB3 (rev. 1.0)
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3308#ov

Manual:
http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-h57m(h55m)-usb3_v2.0_e.pdf
Check a page 3 : how to find a Revision.

When you tried with a other RAM, your pc works fine... you said.
Exact?

Your have this RAM :
http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/kvr1333d3n9_4g.pdf
Check a timing for compare with bios information, in M.I.T. Section.

Otherwise, check page 16 for How to install RAM.

If only one DDR3 memory module is installed, be sure to install it in the DDR3_1 or DDR3_3 sockets.
So try to install one by one.  One Ram and Test a Slot ram.  Make a test with all Slot.

Return here with a result.

hi,
To work aroud this problem, the only thing u can do is,
return your  KVR13n9s8/4 to the seller  and get another KVR1333d3n9/4g .
or you can  spend more couple bucks to get a KHX1600C9D3/4G  (which is a HyperX RAM (WITHOUT XMP!!)  that able overclock to 1600 with setting 9-9-9-27 @1.65v),
and you run it at it's default speed 1333  ( 9-9-9-25 @1.5v , which is same spec with  KVR1333d3n9/4g  )

info of KHX1600C9D3/4G :
http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX1600C9D3_4G.pdf
I hope this will be helpful for you.

i had the same mobo and same problem too, tried everything:

Hi Sheriff,  :D

You have :
....

Your have this RAM :
http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/kvr1333d3n9_4g.pdf
Check a timing for compare with bios information, in M.I.T. Section.

....
from the image in this PDF , showing that this KVR1333D3N9/4G is a newer version that with  Low profile (only using half-height  pcb, about 18.7mm) .
the older version is using full height pcb (30mm) ,which have more compatible confidence.

Hi again, we got it to work with the same type of memory, but we used 2 gig chips.
That was strange because the 4 gig chips wouldn't.
Thanks for all the response and assistance.

Just found that , kingston had revised their KHX1600C9D3/4G in the early of 2014 ,
the new revision MAY NOT compatible to H55M-USB3 . pls ensure u got
the "sixteen 256M x8-bit FBGA" for your H55M-USB3

new revision:

DESCRIPTION
HyperX KHX1600C9D3/4G is a 512M x 64-bit (4GB) DDR3-
1600 CL9 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM), 1Rx8 memory mod-
ule, based on eight 512M x 8-bit FBGA components
.This
module has been tested to run at DDR3-1600 at a low latency
timing of 9-9-9-27 at 1.65V.The SPD is programmed to JEDEC
standard latency DDR3-1600 timing of 11-11-11 at 1.5V.

....
blah..blah..blah...

the original revision  is sixteen 256M x8-bit FBGA, pls ensure u got the right thing , if anyone intend to upgrade their core2duo or first generation i3,i5,i7 system :
