H87-HD3 new build, loads of BSOD and now USB3 issue

Built a new unit over the weekend with the following -

H87-HD3 - F5 f/w
i5 4670
16gb G.Skill Ripjaws 12800 XMP
MSI R9 270x Gaming
Samsung EVO 250gb SSD
Seasonic Platinum 520w fanless PSU
Noctua U14S cpu cooler

Nothing clocked at all, just stock and using XMP profile for the ram

Installed Win 8.164 bit and immediately started with BSOD, within 24hr I had 8. I've ran several stress tests and all is good, not showing one issue.

So, now have put on Win 7 64bit and same again, only this time I have a USB 3 problem also, the ext hdd that is in one of the rear USB3 ports only works at USB2 speeds now, where on the Win 8.1 install it was fine and had proper speeds, i've installed all the latest drivers according to the Gigabyte support pages, both installs of Windows were all updated too. I understand Win 7 doesn't have USB3 drivers natively but surely installing the relevant drivers from Gigabyte would enable it?

So far i'm not impressed at all, i'm loaded with major issues and all seem to be motherboard related, this is possibly the worst motherboard i've ever had, reading other posts it seems I may have some luck by limiting the ram, but then going down that route is just limiting the machine, I could understand alot of issues if i'd overclocked stuff but it's all stock.

I know that these are not the same boards but if I use the XMP profile I get BSOD.

Mine is set to XMP as the ram is obviously specced as such, so it should work, i've not tried it at the mobo's default setting on the ram though but will give it a go tonight.

All I do set the speed and that is it.

Ok I have found the issue that's giving me 10+ BSOD every day, this board is pure s***e, it doesn't like having all 4 DIMMS, I took out 2 of my sticks and it's stable now, has been for hours.

It is actually a common issue from reading around online, lots of folks have the same problem, it's just a crappy designed mobo that doesn't do what it's built for and it then compromises the whole system.

I won't be buying GB again that's for sure, I've ordered an MSI H87-G43 board so am hoping that's much better with the simple things that should just be taken for granted.

I have the same issue.  Usb3 External hard drives plugged into Usb3 ports make the pc go nuts. I only have two ram slots filled. I am having loads more problems but they are hard to pin down. I just have a feeling the pc is not running as smoothly as it should.
Is there any real solution to the Usb 3 issue??

BTW I said I'd never buy Gigabyte again about 6 years ago. I figured maybe I got a bad batch last time. I guess I was wrong!!

I have many of Gigabyte boards and only had a couple of them to have problems. I have had maybe 25 to 30 of the boards.

I still haven't got a 87 series board yet. I have had a couple of Asus but never really tested one. I have one of the Asus board right now.

I'll have to get a CPU for it and test it. Plus get a Gigabyte one to test too. All board companies have problems but seams Gigabyte is a the top of the list.
