You can use OpenSUSE as a desktop OS and even play some Steam games nativelly,no Wine emulation needed ,listen to music with Amarok or Audacious enjoy your movies with XBMC ,VLC or Kaffeine .In the same time you can use this as a routing OS ,FTP or web server.
You can simply watch a movie in XBMC the OS doing in the same time routing for a few machines you have in your LAN.
Great OS for HTPC-s.
It is regularly updated.
Use the DVD version and install all the libraries to avoid issues when installing something.
