GA-F2A88X-D34 shows Audio device not plugged in when it is
« on: January 03, 2014, 03:51:45 am »
Hello, I just got a new GigaByte MB (GA-F2A88X-D34) in December and I have a very frustrating issue. I have installed the correct drivers for my audio and it still says no device plugged in. If you can see the picture you can see that the device drivers are working but for some reason the don't see the speakers I have plugged in or the headphones or anything for that mater.

I have w7 x64 8 gigs of ram and I am using dual GtX 460's

I am really stressed that it is a Mobo issue and I will have to RMA it.

Please help me out here :)

Pick the device you want to use and set it as default then hit configure see if that helps. I dont see what you have set as default.

Thanks for the quick response. You know what's odd is that none of the devices, when I click them, turn on that feature. For example when I click on any of the devices all that lights up is the properties option on the far left.

This is really crazy and I am trying not to drink in excess over it :(

Thanks for the reply. That's the thing, there is no realtek control manager. In fact when I manually install the realtek drivers windows says its not compatible and the driver has error code (10) can not start. I have installed the realtek driver many times and every time it asked to reboot and every time the driver stays either Nvidia HD audio output or just the HD audio output that it shows now.

I am really amazed at how well this problem is slowly killing me :)

Sigh......thanks for replying I already did that like I expained in my 1st post. I probaby didnt write it clear enough or I left information out. What everyone should be seeing is the same thing I have been seeing. Yes there is HD jacks showing BUT there is no AUDIO jacks showing. I have tested the audio jacks with different speakers and they never show up in device manager. I had an extra ssd so I rebuilt the ENTIRE system from the ground up, updated ALL~~ drivers~~~ and the bios and I even tried to manually install the drivers from realtek. The manual installation fails with error code (10) Failed to start driver. I have tried for the last 7 days on and off to get the sound working. I checked in my BIOS for a switch to turn the audio jacks on and off but I could not find one.

Anything else you guys can think of I might have missed?

Try that link see if it provides any answer. Error code 10 is a very generic code and could mean more than one thing is wrong.

remove the nvidia card and temporarily use onboard graphics to install audio driver.

it looks like the realtek drivers are trying to overwrite the nvidia drivers instead of installing for onboard audio.

I have almost identical boardand had no problems with audio drivers but I use onboard graphics

Thanks for replying. I removed both crads this weekend and tried to install the driver but they will not install. There is no error for the failed install. Any other ideas?
