Question about the Sniper 3 (1155)

Question about the Sniper 3 (1155)
« on: February 14, 2014, 07:15:35 pm »
Hey I was curious about updating sound drivers for this mobo.

The drivers on the gigabyte site are ancient.

Its kind of a goofy product regarding sound..since it has a Creative CA0132 OEM chip on board.  As I think its the only product to have such a chip (most of these chips are found on PCI Creative sound cards I think) its been a total pain locating an up to date driver.

Im unsure if using a Creative driver for one of their PCI cards would work, or if anyone knows where I can find an up to date driver specific for this chip on my board.

Are you having problems with the sound? If no problems don't worry about it.

My audio driver on my computer is even older than that 08/30/2011.

If you want to find a newer driver it might not be out there. Gigabyte tries to keep those drivers up to date on their site.

I have a saying: that if isn't broke don't fix it. Plus don't try and use another driver from one of they product.

Eh, keeping outdated and old drivers isn't good.

A lot of problems can crop up using outdated drivers.

Anyone else here, possibly with the same mobo, ever able to find a driver that wasn't two years old for the sound?  Right now its my only outdated driver on my system.

You know why they come out with updated drivers or bios? I have been playing around and working on computers from the early 80's.

I don't up date anything unless I really need too. I'm not telling you not to update anything. That is up to the person and their computer.

Plus like I said that driver you are looking for is the newest one out there.

Right but you understand I came here with a specific question looking for some sort of answer.  You reply with "don't fix it if its not broken" and "I haven't been updating drivers since the 80's"...well you get the point.

There anyone other than this guy who might know of where I can get updated drivers for my Sniper 3 mobo?

I'm sorry but I do understand what specific question you are asking. But what point don't you understand that the driver you are looking for is the newest one out there. Oct. 2012

It isn't on the Creative site at all been there! All the sites that do have it. That is the date they are showing. The same one that is shown on Gigabyte that is Oct. 2012. Plus that is the same driver they are using for Windows 8 too.

I'm sorry if you think I don't know what I'm talking about that is fine. Maybe somebody else could tell you something better but I don't think so!
