What do you mean no option? The only thing it is updating to is the Support Xeon E5-2680 V2 CPU. So if you are not going to use this CPU don't update.

I look at the book and on line to see about the 3D bios and there is nothing.

Why you want to know about 3D bios to support 3D video?

I have a friend that he traded for one of my GA-x79-UD3 boards. He said that all the 3D feature came to life with this video card.

If you are not running the 4820k CPU you don't need to update your bios. The bios updates are there for problems and newer components.

If you are not having problems you don't need to update. Doesn't it say that on the support page don't update unless you are having problems.

I think when they say 3D bios is when you get to the bios. It is showing the motherboard and is why they say 3D bios.

Yes you are hoping that it would jump out at you. But that is what they call 3D bios. When they show the motherboard.

There is no option to change it to 3D. When you open up the bios it is when the Motherboard first comes up that is what they are talking about.

The Motherboard kind looks like 3D. That is it what they are saying the 3D is.

I'm going to have to setup my x79-UD3 to see if I have the option. I have that option on my x79-UP4.

Just setup my board and you are right. I don't have the 3D motherboard any more. I'm running F18 too.

I wonder if they even know about it or hoping that nobody even notice it is gone.

I can't remember if it was there when I sent that board back to have it fix for a bad memory slot.

To me it really doesn't matter if it is there or not. But to some people it might.

it is not a big lost , yes I know ..

but I cannot remember it ever being there .  so I wonder why ..  because on the box it says comes with 3D bios ..

so I do feel cheated that in fact it don't ..  I am 98% it was never there

Mine was there and ask a friend in Calif. That has one my boards if he still has the 3D on it. Plus we both have the 1.1 boards and he has the 1.0 board.

I bet Gigabyte is using the same box that they used for the 1.0 board. What we should do is both of us sent them a email telling them about this.

My board was updated with f16  before it was shipped to me . because iv got the i7 4820k

my bet is that the 3d bios was before F16    because i am so sure that it was never there . because i was always in the bios . overclocking and stuff and i dont ever remeber seeing it there ..

I think when comes to our computers we are all little kids. Plus I just look at what my X79-UP4 is at F3t.

There is another bios F4 that will support the 4800 series CPU's. But I'm not going to update it just to see if takes it away Sorry.
