EX58-UD3R: Boot order forgotten after restart
« on: March 02, 2010, 01:06:55 pm »
Hello

When restarting my PC, the boot-order is forgotten.
That means that the PC only boots from the "hard disc" (seems to be the default setting)

If I select "CD-ROM" as first boot device in Bios, save and the restart, it keeps forgetting that setting.
Note: You see in BIOS that First boot device is set to "CD-Rom" but BIOS ignores it when restarting and selects the "Hard disc" instead, but still showing "CD-Rom" as first boot

The rest of the BIOS settings(if I have changed some) are still there.

The only solution I found is to
1) Change First boot device to :Harddisk
2) Change First boot device to :CD-ROM
3) Save changes

That works for the next restart(e.g. the PC boots from "CD-Rom". After that, the PC again "forgets" the Boot-order and but still shows "CD-ROM" as first boot device.

EX58-UD3R rev 1.6
Bios version: FG

Whats wrong?

Have you tried using the latest BIOS? Also try using SATA in AHCI mode
There's no place like ::1

Sata is set to AHCI

This behaviour has been there for the 2 latest BIOS upgrades.
Will try the newest BIOS.
