Do I have to update this motherboards BIOS to run the AMD A10 APU?

As it says this on the APU page: Please note: You may need to update your motherboards BIOS in order for it to support this CPU. Please check with your motherboards manufacturer.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H FM2+ Motherboard

CPU:  AMD A10 7850K Black Edition Quad Core CPU + Integrated Radeon R7 Series Graphics


Oh but one thing. Can I still use the A10 before I update the BIOS?

If i were making an educated guess then the answer would be yes, you will need to update the BIOS to run the A10 7850K CPU

And no, you most probably won't be able to use the new processor until the BIOS version is F3 or higher.

Of course, you might be lucky and have a newer version of the motherboard that has shipped with the F3 BIOS in which case everything will be fine. The only way to know will be to try it and see.

I have the same concern about this board.
From what I've read the BIOS version has to be F5c
to support the A-10-7850 CPU.
If not the board will not post.

I just bought the same mobo although its the micro atx version 3 weeks ago from Amazon. It is a revision 3 mobo with bios version F4 already on it. I use a amd 6800K and it works fine for me.     Beta BIOS
    Update APU AGESA code
    Improve APU OC performance
    Modified Dual-link DVI compatbility
    Add cTDP function

I'm one of these "if it aint broke dont fix it guys" and updating  the bios to a beta version is not a risk I'd be prepared to take.
