mobo : ga-870a-ud3 rev 3.0 [ am3 870 and 850 ]
cpu : am3 phenom II 545 [ unlocked to B45 - 4 cores ]
ram : corsair xms 3 ddr3 1333 [ tw3x4g1333c9a - 2 x 2gb ] or [ tw3x2g1333c9a - 2 x 1gb ] amd non xmp ddr3 ram
hdd : sata or ide [ see problem ]
gpu : nvidia 7950gx2 m500 dx9.0c

I have tried to install windows xp pro 64 bit , sata hdd set to ide plus 2x2gb kit then set to ahci using f6 sata driver-
it will not install at setup stage at all : stop error = irql_not_less_or _equal / or pfn _list_corrupt / or just stop error :
alternatively i tried ide hdd plus 2 x 1gb kit and windows xp pro 32bit sp2 : however I get similar errors only when
windows is halfway through full install : I am unable to understand why PC does not do full install , when bios works
 - was updated from  FA to FD [ set to non - efi ] - whatwould cause this issue ? as I have tried a diagnostic disc
[ eurotools virtual pc-check 2005 ] and the hardware appears to be working fine , i have also checked the OS discs
on other PC's I have running and they are picked up correctly - so what is the issue here ? as I don't know .

Try and change the DVD/CD Drive. I have had that problem in the past with DVD/CD drives.

I had it one time where I installed windows and than tried to install some drivers from a MB disk and it wouldn't even read it.

Thanks for tip , tried it but no difference - however more recently
as last resort - used windows xp home edition sp1 and got full install
via the ide optical drive , I originally put in - so thanks for the help ,
I can now try and get 64 bit version to go in .
