If you could go to the UEFI you would have more problems than you have now. If you want the UEFI I would upgrade to a newer board like the Z77.
That way you stay with most of the stuff you are using now. Plus UEFI is more for windows 8 than 7. The Z68 boards were really not made for that bios.
Every body that has try the bios has had problems. So if you get to F8 and everything is working I would happy with that if I were you.
One other thing too is what you decide to do with a upgrade down the road. If you are using a 1155 Sandy bridge CPU it doesn't support 3.0 video cards.
The Z77 boards support 3.0 video cards and you need a Ivory bridge CPU too. If you go with with a Z77 board the Sandy bridge should work.
But I'm just letting you know that you might run into some problems with the Sandy bridge if you want to use a 3.0 video card.
