GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 LGA
« on: June 26, 2014, 07:41:18 pm »
hello I am about to build a  system with this mobo...
Is there a problem with the motherboard mounting stand-offs not matching up?
I will be putting it in a Nzxt H440 chasis and hope to put a heatsink,
Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler  OR Noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler;
BOTH are heavy so I don't want the mobo not to be fully supported

thanks

thanks...it's just that I read this on newegg
QUOTE"Cons: My only con comes from the board being a small bit more narrow than most other ATX boards. This means the front 2' of board fall short of risers and mounts in most cases, just hanging out there. Not enough for me to deduct any eggs, just a little disconcerting to me.
"UNQUOTE

And I read a similar report elsewhere.....But I should'nt have this problem in a Nzxt H440?

I've seen a video that shows that the board due to it's width doesn't reach
the mounting screws ....don't know if this would be a problem with a  Noctua NH-D15 ???

That's an awful big cooler i have the zalman triple fan 120mm one but it wont fit on either of my boards with the way they designed the hold down screws. They cant be reached over the motherboard coolers to tighten had to go with a zalman 9500 cns and i don't really like zalman products as their support isn't worth a dime. They never answer emails and i cant call from work.

This is a link to the other 2 I have one is 6 years old and works like a charm the other is brand new on the i7, My temps at idle are 28c and after 2 hours of gaming it is 42c at the highest spot then drops quick once I get out of game.
